My Tour of Australia
One of the nicest vacations I ever took was a tour of the Australian coast between Sydney and Melbourne. Not only was the scenery great, the Australian poeple were sociable and helpful. There were also a wealth of things to do.
There are plenty of car rental Sydney and car hire Melbourne options and that’s unquestionably the most favourable way to experience the coast. Car hire companies are more than happy to help you plan your tour and pin point the main tourist attractions along the way. I found a great deal traveling from Sydney to Melbourne just by doing a quick search online.
I embarked on my journey by driving south from Sydney through the Royal National Park. I was blown away by the Grand Pacific Drive, it was glamorous. There are plenty of coastal villages on the way and I enjoyed exploring and spending some time there. I also spent a a few hours taking up the busy city of Wollongong before heading to Jervis Bay.
Jervis Bay is best-known for their dolphin population, I took a cruise the next morning to experience seeing the dolphins swimming just meters away from the boat, truly awesome. The lovely white sand beaches made it hard to leave. Further south I managed to buy some great, high quality craft items in the historic villages of Central Tilba and Tilba Tilba.
I stopped at Mimosa Rocks National Park and swam in the lagoon before stopping at Tathra Beach to watch some surfers and enjoy the beach. That evening I lodged in the stylish village of Metung and had a fantastic seafood platter in one of the lakeside restaurants.
Wilsons Promontory National Park is home to extraordinary scenery and an abundance of wildlife such as kangaroos, koalas and wombats. The place is filled with activities to keep you busy, I spent an entire day hiking through forests, exploring beaches and climbing on granite mountains.
Next destination was Fish Creek, a small, eccentric and thriving township with arts and crafts, books and cafes. I drove across the bridge over to Phillip Island, a popular family stop. At Nobbies Centre you can watch the penquins strutting up and down the beach and see one of Australia’s biggest fur seal colonies.
I ended my trip in Melbourne making my last stop at the working heritage farm on Churchill Island. Renting a car was a convenient and fun way to do this spectacular coastal drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Next time I may get a car rental in Melbourne and do this trip the other direction!
Hang Gliding Design
If you have ever gone hang gliding then you know that the design of the hang glider is pretty sweet. How many people tried to hang glide with the wrong design before finally coming up with something that works? The Wright Brothers did a lot of the work to come up with the correct wing size and weight of the first airplane.
The purpose of a hang glider is to allow you to sore through the air like a bird. You go high up onto either dunes or a mountain and get a bit of speed going and then let the hang glider hold you in the air as you slowly descend to the ground. It truly is very close to being able to fly. If you have never done it before, you should go and try it out. There are so many places now that have it available, and the best part is that you go with a professional so you don’t have to figure out how to operate it. The hang gliders have been tested and tried and they are now built to work. Once you make it to the bottom you are going to want to do it again, so make sure to bring your Acceletrim product for increased energy and to speed up your metabolism. You are going to need it when you walk back up the top of the sand dunes multiple times.
