Rock legends Kasabian have said that one of their new songs is reminiscent of grunge icons Nirvana.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music, frontman Tom Meighan said that the band has been influenced by a range of artists such as The Kinks, Rolling Stones and 13th Floor Elevators when coming up with material for their fourth album.

“[Guitarist] Sergio Pizzorno has got a body of songs that are sounding great. There’s one that sounds like Nirvana, which is really grungy, a big riff,” he explained.

Meighan added that the forthcoming album will be nothing like their third record, West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, as the new songs are more like Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.

The singer also told the broadcaster that Kasabian hope to record their new effort in a faster time than its predecessors and hope to enter the studio after taking a month off.

I would have ran for my life if only I had realized that I was
talking to a dead person. Because such a thing happening was so
unexpected, I just never imagined that the person could have
been dead when I was talking to her.

It all started out as a normal Friday night. I was a young teen
and love and spring were both in the air. My girlfriend wanted
to go on the Roller Coaster, so I waited on her stoop as she
made all those preparations that females make even when they’re
going on a Roller Coaster ride.

Few males will ever understand what it is that woman do to
themselve’s that takes them so long to pretty themselve’s up,
but the wiser male of the species soon learns that time is
better spent waiting on his Ladies stoop and chatting with the
entire neighborhood rather than sitting on her sofa with no one
to kill the time with.

I looked down to light a cigarrete and suddenly there was a
woman before my eyes that seemed to come out of no where.

“Will you break my door down for me,?” she asked.

“Wouldn’t it be smarter to call a locksmith,?” I replied.

“You don’t understand. I’ve been wearing these same clothes for
three years now and I need to get into my apartment to change
what I’m wearing,” she said.

“Have a cigarette and calm down while I call a locksmith”, I
answered.

“No thank you, I quit smoking three years ago,” she replied.

“Oh, how did you quit,? I asked.

She grinned and said, “they killed me.”

She walked toward the outside door that lead to the hall way
entrance and as I got up to open the door for her she screamed,”
no, don’t get up.”

But as I got up she vanished before my eyes into thin air. When
my girlfriend came out at last and I described the Lady to her
and told her what happened she told me that the Lady I described
lived on the first floor and had died of lung cancer three years
ago.

It was then that I realized what had just transpired. A woman
that had been dead for three years had asked my assistance to
help her return to her grave wearing a fresh outfit.

Before that I had never even thought that there could be a
fashion equation beyond the grave, but evidently there is. Until
that day life and both death had been so simple to understand.

But seeing a woman that was dead for three years being
concerned about what she was wearing just made me take another
look at everything I had understood about life and death up to
that point.

So many times I ponder what that day was all about. But the
only explanation I can come up with is that there are things
that we just do not understand.

Last night I watched the new NBC show named, “The Medium”. The
premise of the show is that Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette)
is a strong-willed young mother of three, a devoted wife and law
student who begins to suspect that she can talk to dead people,
see the future in her dreams and read people’s thoughts.

Ok now what happens from there is more medium then good from my
viewing perspective. Allison Dubois a.k.a. the Witch of Endor (I
Sam. 28:7) and her 6 year old encounter a kid in the school yard
who hit it off with the shy 6 year old, the only trouble is that
the kid died 5 years ago in a car accident outside the school.

This presents a problem for the 6 year old little girl who
doesn’t want to give up her playmate that only she (and
unfortunately the viewer) can see. But Mom to the rescue who
explains that in the afterlife there is a place where everybody
hangs out (everybody who is dead that is) and can groove
together and look down on us and watch us like we are a movie
for their entertainment.

Now the little boy is lonely and Mom explains to the little
girl that he needs to let go so he can go to the good place and
be with his grand parents.

This is the same old rehashed rhetoric that has been out there
for years. The Medium is tired before it even gets started. Not
to mention that the idea of life after death has been debunked
over and over again by most reputable Bible Scholars.

This show is an attempt by the writers to soft sell a spiritual
evil. Alas I have come up with a plot ending episode. A
Christian Believer comes along and casts out the familiar spirit
of Allison Dubois and she is healed. A big thumbs down for The
Medium

“Get Smart”, “Welcome Back, Kotter”, “One Day at a Time” and other classics are not yet on DVD. Where are these classics?
